“Brown Shrikes Lanius cristatus have descended upon the city and made their presence very palpable this last week as they jostle (verbally) for territorial space. An adult female, possibly L. c. cristatus, that was atypical in allowing me to get within minimum focusing distance and tolerated my presence.”
