“I was watching this adult Lesser Coucal (Centropus bengalensis javanensis) call out while seated in a low bush.
“A nearby Yellow-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier analis) attacked it repeatedly (saw 5 episodes) until it left. It possibly was perching too close to the nesting site of the bulbul.
“Composite shows one of the ‘attacks’ (above).
“Note that in the past 2 months, every Lesser Coucal I have seen is in non-breeding plumage.”
