Brown Hawk Owl juveniles

on 14th June 2024

When I got news that the four Brown Hawk Owls, Ninox scutulata, have been sighted again in Windsor Nature Park, I headed over immediately.

They were perched high up and angle was not ideal but in the brief session I had with them, I managed to capture some satisfactory shots.

The two juveniles are a handful. They would disturb one of their parents till it could not take it anymore and flew to another branch. After that it was all hell broke loose as they did all sorts of stunts.

What a joy to see them! The photo gallery below captures their antics and stunts.
