Javan Myna’s vigorous preen

It was an extra hot afternoon and the Javan Mynas (Acridotheres javanicus) were taking advantage of a garden fountain to have a cool bath. It then flew to a nearby tree and spent a few minutes vigorously preening and getting rid of excess water from its plumage.

This was not a normal bout of preening where feathers are individual and meticulously cared for at a steady pace as seen HERE. The entire action was vigorously done as if in a hurry.
