\u201cA juvenile\/immature White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis perpulchra<\/em>), still being fed by the adult (below: adult on the right). <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cNote that the juvenile has a lighter chestnut on head and belly compared to the adult. The juvenile\u2019s white throat and breast feathers are fringed with black, giving a barred appearance (below). <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt also has a white supercilium above the eye (eyebrow stripe) which extends anteriorly \u2013 this feature is visible in a number of the juvenile birds posted on Oriental Bird Images<\/a> (above, below).<\/p>\n
