This pool is adjacent to limestone hills and secondary growth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/SwamphenP-flight-AmarSingh-1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/SwamphenP-flight-AmarSingh-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"SwamphenP-flight [AmarSingh] - 1\" width=\"290\" height=\"205\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24469\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/SwamphenP-flight-AmarSingh-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/SwamphenP-flight-AmarSingh-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"SwamphenP-flight [AmarSingh] - 2\" width=\"290\" height=\"205\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24470\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was a Purple Swamphen (<em>Porphyrio porphyrio viridis<\/em>) about 8-10 meters from him in the overgrown pond. Suddenly another swamphen, about 20 meters away launched itself, flew in and chased the one he was watching away (above). There was the calls of a juvenile nearby (above right), about 20 meters out where the other adult had been.
