But sometimes the eyes appear red-orange \u2013 see also <a href=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/2008\/01\/10\/eye-colour-in-bulbuls\/\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The adult (left) with a juvenile in tow that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/2010\/03\/11\/dato%E2%80%99-dr-amar-singh-hss-%E2%80%93-birdwatcher-extraordinarie\/\">Dato\u2019 Dr Amar-Singh HSS<\/a><\/strong> encountered at the Kledang-Sayong Forest Reserve in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia on 30th June 2010 were feeding on berries from an unidentified jungle tree. Both were swallowing these relatively ripe berries.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the eyes of the juvenile are brown (below-right), compared to the red-orange eyes of the adult.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/100919-BulbulRE-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/100919-BulbulRE-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"100919 BulbulRE - 2\" width=\"290\" height=\"382\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/100919-BulbulRE-2.jpg 290w, https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/100919-BulbulRE-2-227x300.jpg 227w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amar has attached a recording of the <a href='https:\/\/besgroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amar-Bulbul-Red-Eyed-juvenile-calls-1a1.mp3'>calls<\/a> of the juvenile. Calls of the Red-eyed Bulbul are not adequately documented locally. The recorded calls have been modified with software to remove the rushing river background noise (noise reduction function). The software used by Amar is Audacity, a free programme written by a worldwide team of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>The Red-eyed Bulbul is resident in both Malaysia and Singapore, although it is now uncommon in Singapore.
