Shingleback lizard munching on Capeweed flowers

on 10th October 2024

On 18 September 2024 I stumbled upon a shingleback lizard (Tiliqua rugosa) munching on Capeweed flowers (Arctotheca calendula) by the roadside. Although I have encountered them frequently this is the first time I have witnessed one feeding actively. Hope to document one feeding on other food items in the future.

The lizard looks like a piece of dried wood to the uninitiated.
