Greater Green Leafbird – male with prey

posted in: birds, Feeding-invertebrates | 0

An adult male Greater Green Leafbird (Chloropsis sonnerati zosterops) was foraging in a Rain Tree (Samanea saman) at the edge of the forest reserve at about 6-7 meters up. It surprisingly found this large cricket prey that is manipulated in the beak, with no branch swiping, before swallowing whole.
