Java Sparrow – juveniles

Two juveniles Java Sparrows (Lonchura oryzivora) with two adults self-feeding on seeds of tall ‘grass’ or reeds. Note the paler bare parts and moult of the juveniles in all the images here.

The two juveniles (presumed from the same family) were in different stages of moult into adult plumage, suggesting a possibility of being born at different times.
