Banded Broadbill – calls

on 1st June 2019

“Been watching a number of Banded Broadbills (Eurylaimus javanicus pallidus) in different segments of this forest reserve, but very high in the canopy for good images; on all 3 occasions a pair seen.

“Latest pair today very vocal and I attempted some call documentation (recordings too large to post) – a sonogram and waveform below showing classical calls.

“Many other call types also made but was not able to document as interspersed.

“Call audio recording, edited (2 calls spliced together) (below). Most classical calls were a duet.”
