A male Olive-backed Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis) was sighted perching on an exposed branch of a wayside tree in front of my house. The rain had just stopped and the sunbird was busy vigorously preening its feathers.
It spent about half an hour preening various body feathers, stretching its wings and legs and making calls.
Earlier posts on sunbirds indulging in comfort behaviour include Olive-backed Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis) and Brown-throated Sunbird (Anthreptes malacensis).
