Jeremiah Loei’s 2012 video captured the loud, shrill call of the Stork-billed Kingfishers (Pelargopsis capensis) at Pasir Ris Park. Each series of krek-krek-krek-krek-krek… was accompanied by the flipping up of its tail to be immediately lowered.
Was it responding to a softer call in the background, sounding like a variation of this soft call in the background? Or a variation of this call?
