White-eye with fruit of Singapore Rhododendron (video grab).

Singapore Rhododendron (Melastoma malabathricum), a common weedy shrub, attracts many birds. According to our list of plants and the birds they attract, 8 species of birds have been documented as feeding on the fruits. These include one species of barbet, two bulbuls, four flowerpeckers and one green-pigeon.

Recently we added Javan Myna (Acridotheres javanicus) LINK, now we have a ninth species, White-eyes (Zosterops sp.).
