Garlic Vine (Mansoa alliacea), a tropical vine native to northern South America, is commonly grown for its large, attractive purple flowers. The common name comes from the smell of garlic when the leaves are crushed. This is one of Jui Ng‘s favourite plant that flourishes along the veranda of his high-rise apartment.

Recently he noticed Olive-backed Sunbirds (Cinnyris jugularis) visiting the flowers for their nectar. So far he only managed to photograph the male.
