“A pair of Pacific Swallows (Hirundo tahitica javanica) that were completing their nest construction (above) gave warning calls when they spotted me approaching.
“Wells 2007 describes this as the ‘steam-whistle calls’ and renders it best as ‘pseeep’ or ‘theeep’.
“Calls above and sonogram & waveform given below.
“Now termed as House Swallow (Hirundo javanica javanica) in some literature.”
