Oriental Darter in Perak, Malaysia

“I have intentionally kept the sighting dates and location of this bird vague as I want to reduce harassment of rare birds.

“The Oriental Darter (Anhinga melanogaster melanogaster) is currently a vagrant to Peninsular Malaysia and seen very infrequently.

“It is classified as Near Threatened (NT) on the IUCN Red List. I have seen two birds recently in my region.
