“A 1st winter Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus) that tried to intimidate me.

(According to Erritzoe et al. (2007), ‘first winter’ refers to a juvenile bird that has a partial post-juvenile moult.)

    Interesting find. Looks like this juvenile’s raging breeding hormones gone into confusion mode.
