“After a few ‘koel songs’ and short chase, it was still a no go. But a fruit in the mouth did the trick and finally the lady says I do.
“BESG has posted an excellent article on Aisan Koel (Eudynamys scolopaceus) using fruit as nuptial gift during courtship, see LINK.
“However the koel in the picture only offers the fruit to the female after mating. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as the lady doesn’t mind.”

Note: Courtship feeding usually comes before copulation. However, in this case, the gift was given after the act – do we know why? We only guess. And those that we guess, we usually interpret them based on our own experience… LINK.
