Sunny Lwee’s video clip shows a male Plaintive Cuckoo (Cacomantis merulinus) making its mournful territorial call of “phi phi phi phi phi-pipipiˆ (Robson, 2008).

Plaintive Cuckoo (Cacomantis merulinus) is an uncommon resident parasitising the nests of Ashy Tailorbirds (Orthotomus ruficeps) as well as prinias and cisticolas (Robson, 2008).
