Asian Fairy-bluebird catches a cicada

Ling Kwee Chang’s image of the female Asian Fairy-bluebird (Irena puella) with a cicada between its mandibles was photographed at Dairy Farm Nature Park.

The food of this fairy-bluebird incudes fruits like figs and insects like alate termits. Cicada should be a new food record.
