Chestnut-headed Bee-eater mating

“I was watching bitterns but happened to look up and saw this pair of Chestnut-headed Bee-eater (Merops leschenaulti leschenaultia) mating (above).

“Note that the male is visibly bigger that the female in both images (male on the right in image above). In literature there is little to differentiate the sexes. Not sure if what we have here is just a ‘smaller’ than usually female (or bigger male).”
