Buff-breasted Babbler – nesting

posted in: Nests | 0

“I spotted this adult Buff-breasted Babbler (Pellorneum tickelli tickelli) collecting nesting material from a very high branch (12-14 meters up).

“I was fortunate as I was on a slope and the forest ‘below’ me, so we were almost at eye level. It pulled many stands of [bryophytes, possibly liverworts] …

“…until it had a large beak full. It then zipped into the forest and I could not follow.”
