White-headed Munia – feeding technique

“Rather than do the conventional feeding of climbing up an unstable reed they have elected to feed on grain that has fallen to the ground.

“A mixture of adults and juveniles.

“Seen this feeding behaviour of the White-headed Munia (Lonchura maja maja) previously. The grain in question is the Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) a favourite foods of all the munias and Baya Weaver.
