Territorial call of the Lesser Coucal

posted in: Videography, Vocalisation | 0

Jeremiah Loei’s video clip shows a Lesser Coucal (Centropus bengalensis) perching on a branch among a tangle of vegetation making its territorial call.

This call is a series of wuup-uup-uup-uup-uup-uup – sometimes with an additional uup.

This territorial call was recorded in Singapore. Note that there will be variations of the call in different countries.
