Lena Chow documented a few Scaly-breasted Munias (Lonchura punctulata) feeding on Purple Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’) seeds. This grass, originating from Africa, is a relatively recent introduction to Singapore’s Garden City. The purple inflorescence provides vibrant colour to our urban environment.
