Straw-headed Bulbul feeding chick

“While the haze was taking a temporary respite, I caught this Straw-headed Bulbul (Pycnonotus zeylanicus) feeding its fledgling just next to Visitor’s Centre at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, while its partner was making loud contact calls lower in the same tree.

“The tree is a tall belinjau (Gnetum gnemon), thanks to Anuj Jain who identified it.”

What a wonderful sight to see these rare bulbuls breeding. I pray they will always remain free.
