On 20th July 2011, Dato’ Dr Amar-Singh HSS came across a fruiting noni tree (Morinda citrifolia) in the outskirts of Ipoh City, Perak, Malaysia. This tree is also known as great morinda, Indian mulberry and mengkudu in Malaysia.
There was a large flock of Asian Glossy Starlings (Aplonis panayensis strigata) – feeding on the fruits. In addition, there were more than a dozen Yellow Vented Bulbuls (Pycnonotus goiavier analis), more than six Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis maculates) and one Lineated Barbet (Megalaima lineata hodgsoni).
