Brahminy Kite eating prey in flight

“Just want to share some photos of a Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) eating a prey while it was gliding in the air.

“On 20th February 2011 at 1:20 pm, I parked the car in Car Park B, Dairy farm. A White-bellied Sea-eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) circled at about 500 feet high.

“Just after the White-bellied Sea-eagle disappeared amount the tree line, a Brahminy Kite glided in at about 200 feet high. It was carrying a prey with a long tail, looking like a rat. The kite circled over the stream near the car park. It frequently banged its head towards the prey. I took a series of picture with the 500mm + 1.4X.”
