Call of the Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker

posted in: Vocalisation | 2

Dato’ Dr Amar-Singh HSS photographed the male Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum) and recorded his call on 25th December 2010 at his Canning Garden home in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia – HERE.

This is a common garden flowerpecker that Amar takes delight in observing and photographing. The bird is very approachable and at times even when approached with the camera in hand.

I guess the flowerpecker is clicking, and some other birds in the background are calling?

I can hear the calls of White-throated Kingfisher and Spotted Dove in the background.
