Eyelashes of the Crested Caracara

on 6th July 2009

“I was looking at some Crested Cara Cara pictures I took yesterday (not those on my website) and it has definite eye lashes not only hairs near the bill. I would post the picture or crop if there was an upload and would email anybody interested if they used the contact me form.”

That was what Dennis wrote after he read our blog account on eyelashes in birds. So we got in touch of him and here are the pictures. The Crested Caracara (Caracara plancus) is a raptor of the southern North America, Central and South America. It often perches openly on posts, fences and at the top of trees.

We also have a post on the eyelashes of the Plain-pouched Hornbill HERE.
