Peaceful Dove mating

posted in: Courtship-Mating, Pigeon-Dove | 1

Walad Jamaludin a.k.a. walj has done it again. His earlier post was on the Collared Kingfisher (Todiramphus chloris) mating. This time he photographed a pair of Peaceful Dove (Geopelia striata) mating. As usual, the act was rapid but he managed to document the stages.

The series were photographed on 17th May 2009 at Singapore’s offshore island of Pulau Ubin.

This post is a cooperative effort between NaturePixels.org and BESG to bring the study of bird behaviour through photography to a wider audience.
